Successfully defended client against allegations involving federal False Claims Act and 11 related state statutes over sale and distribution of prescription medication. Plaintiff relators and United States government had obtained nearly 600 million dollars from international drug manufacturer in the lawsuit and also sued over 10 pharmacies from across the country for additional damages. Obtained dismissal with prejudice for client following victorious Motion for Judgment on the Pleadings based on relators failure to identify fraud with sufficient detail and specificity.

Represented computer software manager in severance dispute and negotiations after client was laid off from large health insurance company in Hartford. Advised client on strategy that was successful in recovering nearly 5 times the amount of money offered in the original severance package.

In exchange for the small severance amount, client would have had to sign agreement giving up his rights to a lawsuit for wrongful termination. Former employee claimed unpaid wages for working during lunch hours over several year period. Obtained favorable result for employer and avoided costly lawsuit or other claims.

Represented Hartford area employer in defense of claim for unpaid bonus and salary. Former employee claimed he was not paid a bonus and alleged that the failure to pay wages was arbitrary and subject to double damages and attorney's fees. Reached successful settlement on behalf of employer.

Counseled medical professional on strategy for avoiding non-compete agreement and its legal restrictions. Developed strategy for professional that would allow her to continue to earn living and practice without breaching technical terms of non-compete agreement with her former employer.

On behalf of Hartford area business with statewide sales, obtained judgment against former employee who stole customers and company property. Former employee left client's business operation and set up a competing business in breach of a non-compete agreement. After filing for a prejudgment remedy and injunction against the former employee, reached settlement that included liquidated damages provisions. Former employee subsequently violated the agreement subjecting him to 5 times the liquidated damages amount plus attorney fees. Obtained judgment against employee based on the liquidated damages.

Successfully settled claims against a major Connecticut Hospital on behalf of a medical doctor wrongfully terminated from a Fellowship program. Settlement included resolution of technology contract dispute in addition to the employment claim.

Represented Hartford area business in claim against former employee who stole a large customer. Before our involvement, the former employee had sold his business to our client. The sale of assets included the large customer. The employee later left our client's company and set up a competing business. No contracts existed for the asset sale or for non-competition. Despite no contract existing, successfully brought claim against former employee on theory of breach of fiduciary duty and reached favorable settlement.

Represented homeowner in fraudulent building and lending scheme. Client was victim of fraud by building contractor who was not licensed and constructed a defective modular home. Contractor had several claims against him for defective construction and was subject of several news reports and action by the Attorney General. Contractor also put fraudulent mechanic's lien on homeowner's property. Obtained judgment against contractor and had mechanic's lien removed from property.

Represented homeowner who signed purchase and sale agreement for sale of his house. Buyer backed out of home purchase and claimed environmental contamination existed previously at the property. Brought claim against buyer and reached settlement for damages.

Represented employee of a restaurant for unpaid wages. Our client was laid off and restaurant refused to pay outstanding wages. We represented the restaurant worker and helped recover the unpaid wages before the restaurant filed for bankruptcy.

While working for our client, the employee stole a customer list, sabotaged the facilities, and disparaged the business. The employee then left to start a competing business. We represented the client to stop the fraudulent conduct of the former employee.

Represented Hartford professional firm in claim against head hunter agency for breach of contract. Head hunter company refused to refund a fee after placing an employee that never worked for the professional firm. The head hunter company had a slew of lawsuits and attachments against its principle. Won arbitration ruling and turned the ruling into a judgment in the superior court. The head hunter agency refused to pay the award. After short time period, collected the full damages plus interest after putting liens on the office equipment and assets of the head hunter agency.

On behalf of Glastonbury based corporation, recovered funds from a former fiduciary and corporate officer in less than 30 days that were unaccounted for more than five years.

Successful settlement reached on behalf of a life estate tenant on commercial property in Farmington in action brought by disgruntled heirs over alleged commercial waste on the land. Client paid out no money, remained in possession of life estate, and profited by reaching an agreement on higher monthly rents.

Reached successful settlement on behalf of Hartford area corporation sued for breach of commercial lease. Settlement resulted in client profiting by cancellation of earn out and dividend payments to former employees that were shareholders of an acquired company.

Discredited environmental engineer after two days of cross-examination and leveraged favorable resolution of complex case against multiple parties on behalf of high-end Hartford County home builder that was sued for defective construction in Connecticut residential development. No money was paid and client was able to realize an eventual profit of over $100,000 on the project.

As an Assistant District Attorney for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, obtained conviction in juvenile rape case before 12 person jury highlighted by effective use of limited circumstantial evidence.
